An alterhuman information carrd made by an alterhuman. This is a WIP (work in progress.)
Otherkin/Otherkind
Otherkin(d): an individual who identifies as a species they weren't born as. This may be a spiritual belief, psychological belief, or another kind of belief.
Most, but not all, otherkin identify as human as well.
The species somebody identifies as is their kintype.
A kintype does not have to be a past life, and a past life isn't always a kintype. If you don't still identify as what you were in a past life, that isn't your kintype.
Fictionkin/Fictionkind
Fictionkin(d): an individual who identifies as a fictional character or species. Someone who identifies as a fictional species may call themselves fictherian or theriomythic instead.
This may be a spiritual belief, psychological belief, or another kind of belief.
A common belief is that there are multiple universes, some where fictional characters from this universe is real in a different universe, and their soul has transferred to ours. But as previously stated, this isn't the only belief.
Most fictionkin identify as human as well, but not all do.
The character or species somebody identifies as is their kintype or fictotype.
A fictotype does not have to be a past life, and a past life isn't always a fictotype. If you don't still identify as what you were in a past life, that isn't your fictotype.
Therian/Therianthrope
Therian: a shortened form of therianthrope
Therianthrope: an individual who identifies as nonhuman animal. This may be a spiritual belief, psychological belief, or another kind of belief.
Most therians identify as human as well, but not all do.
The species somebody identifies as is their kintype or theriotype.
A theriotype does not have to be a past life, and a past life isn't always a theriotype. If you don't still identify as what you were in a past life, that isn't your theriotype.
Therian/Kin is NOT:
Something you do
Being kin is an identity, and a kintype is just who you are.
Something that is a lot like you
While 'kin may share characteristics with their kintype, just being similar to something doesn't make it a kintype. Believing you are that thing makes it a kintype.
A Favorite Character/Comfort Character/Really Loving Something
Kin identify as another species or character. Not all kin even like their kintype(s).
An Aesthetic
Some kin may dress as their kintype, or make aesthetics and moodboards for their kintypes. However, this isn't what makes them their kintype. Believing you are that thing makes it a kintype.
Temporary/A Phase
Kin are always their kintypes, and will always be. Some may find out they weren't what they thought they were, but you can't change or drop a kintype.
If you previously believed yourself to be something, it could of been a fictionflick or otherflick.
Roleplaying
While some may gain comfort from roleplaying as their kintypes, the act of roleplaying by itself doesn't make you kin. Roleplaying is only temporary. Kin are their kintypes forever.
A Mental Illness/Delusion
Identifying as something else doesn't cause harm or distress in of itself, so it's not considered a mental illness.
A delusion is something that comes from a mental illness. If you don't have any other symptoms, then you're probably not delusional. [1][2]
Some believe their kintypes are from their mental illness, but not all.
A Religion
Kin have a wide variety of different faiths, spiritual beliefs, or lack thereof.
